Landscape Photography Workshop, August 26-30, 2020
I’ve just returned from South Dakota after an outstanding landscape photography workshop, and I’m pleased to announce that I’ve scheduled dates for next year. 2020 will mark my 10th anniversary workshop in South Dakota, and I’m looking forward to meeting you there!
This workshop is a comprehensive landscape photography experience, with a wide variety of shooting locations and in-depth training on workflow and post-processing techniques. Each day, we’ll photograph sunrise and sunset, and then spend several hours together learning how to make your best images stand out with fine-art processing tools.
Workshop Topics Include
Composition & Exposure
HDR & Panoramas
Image Processing in Adobe Lightroom Classic & Adobe Photoshop
Due to a cancellation, I have an immediate opening to join my Oregon Coast Photo Safari & Landscape workshop. We’ll meet in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, October 12th, then travel to Bandon Beach on the Oregon coast. Bandon Beach is home to some of the most spectacular sea-stacks on the Pacific coast, and we’ll take advantage of the full moon for wonderful low-tide shooting.
An incredible floral display in the Colorado high country
2019 was my fifth consecutive wildflower/macro photo safari, and boy was it ever amazing! The long, wet spring we had this year meant that the blooms around Crested Butte were off the chart. Unlike previous years, where we had to go up above 10,000′ to find the best blooms, this year’s spectacle was in full swing all around Crested Butte.
Crested Butte, Colorado, is sometimes referred to as the “wildflower capital of the USA,” and this year proved why. The hillsides were covered in color; yellow sunflowers interspersed with blue and purple lupines transformed the valleys into a painter’s palette. We also encountered glacier lilies, red and sulphur paintbrush, fairy trumpets, and of course, Colorado columbine.
Our shooting sessions took place every morning and afternoon, and during the day, I worked with my clients to help them perfect their workflow/keywording and image processing. We also learned how to perform focus-stacking with close-up and landscape subjects.
