Rainbow over the Scottish countryside, Cairngorms National Park
On the road from Pitlochry to Inverness, we stumbled upon a glorious rainbow in Cairngorms National Park. I asked our driver to stop the van, and my clients and I captured the fleeting moment of sunshine and color from the roadside.

Photograph the Oregon Coast with Jason Odell Oct. 12-17, 2019.
Photograph Bandon, Oregon Oct 12-17
Due to a cancellation, I have an immediate opening to join my Oregon Coast Photo Safari & Landscape workshop. We’ll meet in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, October 12th, then travel to Bandon Beach on the Oregon coast. Bandon Beach is home to some of the most spectacular sea-stacks on the Pacific coast, and we’ll take advantage of the full moon for wonderful low-tide shooting.
I’ve arranged for group lodging directly across the street from our beachfront shooting location for outstanding logistics while we’re there.
As with all of my landscape photography safaris, I’ll be there to provide hands-on instruction on composition, exposure, and digital post-processing using Lightroom and Photoshop.
Join Jason Odell on an international photo tour in 2020
I’m offering three international photo tours for 2020, and they are going to be really fun! My 2020 travel photography workshop destinations include Croatia, Ireland, and Panama. I design each of these tours with your comfort in mind, and my goal is to make sure that you return home with incredible photos. Group sizes are generally capped at 12 or fewer photographers, and when land tours are involved, we’ll have a private driver and excess seating capacity so that everyone has room for their camera bags. My international tours are a great opportunity to learn mobile workflow and creative travel photography techniques, including long exposure, infrared, and creative composition.
Master photographing birds in flight with Jason Odell February 10-14, 2019
Join me in San Diego, California to immerse yourself in the art of bird photography. This exclusive instructional photo safari is limited to eight (8) participants for a personal experience that you can’t get from the big tours. I offer “ask me anything” instruction during the safari to ensure you’re getting the best quality images. Because of the small group size, I’m able to offer a more intimate instructional style that allows each participant to get the knowledge they need to succeed.
This workshop is perfect for photographers who wish to capture portraits of birds and wildlife, plus hone their skills on photographing birds in flight. We will have the opportunity to photograph numerous species, including pelicans, cormorants, gulls, and terns. We will also likely encounter sea lions and other wildlife on the beaches, and have the opportunity to get some nice sunsets and environmental shots.
Each day, we will download and process our images together as a group, get critiques, and learn new techniques to make your photos into fine-art masterpieces. I will work with you to capture and process the best possible images into beautiful finished products.
