I love it when I can capture interactions in nature. This bumblebee had no issues with being photographed on my 2018 Colorado Wildflower Safari. Here’s a shot I got in south Texas using the 200-500mm f/5.6E VR Nikkor near its minimum focus distance of 2.2 meters, showing the good magnification you can get with this lens, especially on a DX Nikon body like the D500. This image is un-cropped, and wouldn’t have been possible with a standard 500mm telephoto without extension tubes.
