POTD: Spinning into fall

I wanted to have a little fun so I went out with my Nikon D810 and 50mm f/1.4 AFS G Nikkor lens. For this image, I stopped down all the way to get a shutter speed of 1/15 second. I rotated the camera while dragging the shutter. For a finishing look, I applied a Flypaper Texture (discount code: JASONO).

I love photographing in aspen groves. If you let yourself have time to enjoy your surroundings, it can be a very serene experience. I took my clients to a couple of aspen groves during my Fall in the Rockies photo safari, and the colors were wonderful. However, the conditions don’t always lend themselves to great photographs and it can be hard to capture the feeling of the glowing trees in a photograph. Out and about yesterday, I grabbed this shot of an antique Underwood typewriter (remember those?) hand-held with my Nikon 1 V2 camera and 10mm 1-Nikkor lens. I thought it would be a good shot for a texture treatment, so I applied one of the new “Metallic” textures from Flypaper (discount here). I finished the shot with a border added in Color Efex Pro 4.
