Photographing wildlife in Bocas del Toro, Panama

In 2019, I visited Isla Bastimentos in Panama for a week of wildlife photography.

In 2019, I had the opportunity to spend a week at the Tranquilo Bay Eco Adventure Lodge in Bocas del Toro, Panama. I discovered Panama’s incredibly rich biodiversity, with hundreds of species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. This is my story of that experience!

  1. What tours do you offer and how much are they? I’d like to go. I have to get some more gear. I already have a Canon 500 f/4 ii and a 300 2.8 ii. What body would you choose, the R3 or the R5. How about if you were going to also shoot herons, egrets, cranes, shorebirds, elk, bear, moose, horses, leopards and other larger animals although they can be at a distance sometime, R3? Does the R3 resolve more like the 5dmk4 so because of the better pixels like you said seem like 30 still in your opinion? I’m thinking with the R3 megapixels are a non issue because you can just right click on an image in Lightroom and choose ENHANCE and increase the megapixels on a chosen image when you want? How about that? Have you tried that? If that works, I’m choosing R3.
