Photography in the Time of Coronavirus
Hi friends, first of all I want everyone to know that things are fine with me here in Colorado. Nevertheless, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has created mass disruption to the economy, especially the travel industry. As a small-business, I depend on you for my livelihood, and I really appreciate your support since I started Luminescence of Nature Press in 2006. I, like many of you, am practicing “social distancing” and I’m fortunate that I work from home most of the time. Nevertheless, I’m scrambling to make sure that everyone who attends my photo safaris and workshops is kept safe. To that end, here are some steps that I’m taking to keep things going here during this pandemic. I appreciate your support!
Rescheduled Photo Safaris
My April photo tours to Panama and Croatia have been rescheduled to avoid travel during this incident. The Panama wildlife & birding safari will now take place Sept. 13-19, coinciding with Panama’s fall bird migration. As a result of the schedule change, limited spaces are available to join this photo safari. All of my photo tours are limited to small groups (usually 8 or fewer participants).
My Croatia coastal photo cruise is rescheduled for April 22-May 2, 2021. This event is currently full; contact me to be added to the wait-list.
My fall photo workshop schedule is moving forward as planned. South Dakota Badlands: August 26-30, 2020 and Oregon Coast: Sept. 29-Oct. 3 are excellent opportunities for those wishing to experience fine-art landscape photography in the field. These workshops are limited to a maximum of 8 photographers.
Nikon Z Workshop: Reduced Class Size
To facilitate “social distancing,” my colleague, Rick Walker, and I are limiting participation in our Nikon Z Master Class to 10 photographers. This workshop is proceeding as planned, May 16-17 in Colorado Springs, CO.
More Online Classes With Video Replays
I’m going to continue to teach online classes throughout the coming months. Courses will be added each week, as I’m still working through topics and preparing materials. All registered participants will receive a video replay link of my live courses in the event they wish to watch it again, or cannot participate live. The online class schedule is posted at my event page. Feel free to suggest a topic for a future class!
Reduced Rates on 1 on 1 Remote Mentoring
Now through May 31st, I’m reducing my online mentoring rate to $50 per hour (normally $80/hour). One on one sessions allow me to answer your questions directly, troubleshoot your computer system, and review images with you directly. The topics for my mentoring sessions are completely up to you, and can include:
- Photoshop & Lightroom
- Plug-in software (Nik Collection etc)
- Image review & critique
- Computer hardware and setup (Mac systems)
- General photography topics of your choosing
