I’ve put together a small gallery over at my Google+ page with some of my favorite images from the past year. 2012 was a great year for getting out and taking photos! Not only was there new gear to try out (Nikon D4, D800e), but I also got to go to some really fun locations to lead photo tours, like Texas, Florida, and the South Dakota Badlands.
These shots were all captured with Nikon cameras and lenses, and I processed them using the techniques I teach and write about, including Capture NX2, Photoshop, Color Efex Pro 4, Silver Efex Pro 2, HDR Efex Pro 2, and texture blending.
Looking back on the year, the main thing I learned was to keep exploring new techniques and not be afraid to screw up. Not every image works out the way your mind’s eye sees it. That’s ok; it’s part of photography. Not every image needs wild processing, but sometimes it’s fun to explore artistic treatments.
I hope you enjoy my small contribution to photography in 2012, and I’m already excited about visiting new places and meeting new people in 2013.
I am able to offer archival gallery prints of any of these images, should you have an empty wall. Just contact me for more information. jason(at)luminescentphoto(dot)com
