I got a call from a friend of mine asking if I’d like to go with him to photograph the practice runs for the 2012 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Fast cars and crazy curves, I thought. After a painful 0200 alarm (I thought landscape photo safaris were brutal), we headed out to the top of Pikes Peak to watch the cars do their thing.
This shot was captured with my Nikon D4 and 14-24mm f/2.8 AFS G Nikkor lens. To create the stylized look, I ran the single image through HDR Efex Pro 2. I finished off with several filters in Color Efex Pro 4, where I used Glamour Glow to create a soft look, and a modified version of my “Landscape Sunset” recipe preset from to create the warm look.
Master every filter in Color Efex Pro 4 with my downloadable guide.
