Just a reminder that I still have spaces available for a four-hour Capture NX2 editing workshop on June 20th. The workshops earlier in the year all sold out, so here’s your chance to get some Capture NX training before you run off for the summer. Each workshop is fully interactive– you can ask me questions live over the telephone as you watch me demonstrate Capture NX2 online. You actually see what’s on my computer screen!
The new Nikon D5000 looks like it will be a hit with the “sports parents”.
Looks like the new Nikon DSLR is a D5000, a replacement to the D40/D60 line.
My good friend Dave Black has published his first book, entitled The Way I See It. The Way I See It is a compilation of 50 one-page workshops that illustrate Dave’s masterful approach to lighting and composition. While this book is an excellent tutorial, it is also a handsome coffee table book– the color images are stunning.
For any photographer, especially those who use the Nikon system, you’ll love Dave’s simple approach to building a scene and capturing traditional events in a manner that brings emotion and feeling to his images.

Photo Mechanic 4.6.1 (still in public beta at this time, but available for trial download from Camerabits) offers a new watermarking feature that allows you to put a watermark image on exported images. I’ve adapted this technique to put my signature on images that I can export as JPEGs directly from my NEFs without having to go through Photoshop first.
